Stock visibility depends on consistent records and reliable movements, not simply a more attractive dashboard.

Choose the source of truth

Agree which system owns the stock record and how other tools receive updates. Multiple editable copies make it difficult to know which quantity to trust.

Define what each number means

On hand, allocated and available are different quantities. Document the meaning of each and use the same language across sales, purchasing and the warehouse.

Make movements easy to record

Receiving, dispatch, returns and adjustments all affect the record. A workflow that is difficult at the point of work invites delayed entry. Test the process with the people using it, including partial deliveries and damaged goods.

Give discrepancies a home

Record mismatches with a reason and an owner. Review recurring causes instead of repeatedly adjusting totals. A clear reconciliation process makes the stock picture more dependable over time.
